Friday while Aunt Lisa and Uncle Travis were down from Montana we decided to let the kids skip a little school and take a trip to the zoo instead. We loaded up and drove down to
SLC. This was Gavin's first zoo trip and Abby and Nathan were excited to be going with Lisa and Travis.

Gavin loved holding his little map of the zoo. He would stop and look at it now and then, studying it intently while saying, "
HHMMMM". Here are the kids in front of the new Asian Highlands Bengal Tiger display. Unfortunately, the Bengal Tiger was "not on display" while we were there. Where in the world does the Tiger go when he isn't on display??? Vacation??? Oh well...we saw plenty of other wild and ferocious animals.

Of course anyone who has grown up making trips to the
Hogle Zoo always has to see how they "measure up" to apes. Abby is almost as tall as a chimp!!! Her arm span has a bit of catching up to do however!

The playground at the Discover Zone is a favorite of course. Here is Nathan on the rope bridge.

Here is Gavin on the spider web with his best spider face on!! He looks mean doesn't he???

We tried to get a good shot of us and the giraffe however, the giraffe wasn't cooperating!! You can see little Ethan here though cruising the zoo in style! He LOVES to be carried in his
Snugli pack. He will just hang on and let you walk around for hours as long as he is
chillin in the
Snugli. Every once in a while some moving animal would catch his eye and he would just stare intently at it until we moved on.

Here is Gavin at the Elephant encounter. He really liked the elephants.

Here is Justin with his little man, Ethan. What a good looking couple of guys!! Ethan was getting pretty tired by this point and was ready to get back into his warm little car seat and nap all the way home.

And of course, no zoo trip is complete without the train ride. We all had a fun day playing at the zoo!!!
