Fun Filled Days!!!

We have had a few fun filled days that have been packed with fun for everyone!!! First, we enjoyed a nice Father's Day at my parents house. Justin had to work unfortunately however, the kids and I made him breakfast (something the kids love to do) and on Saturday we cleaned the backyard up, deck and all the toys so he didn't feel like he had so much to do in the yard. After church we went to my parents and had dinner with my family.

Then, on Monday, we had a surprise visit from an aunt that the kids didnt' know was in town. She stayed with us Monday night and yesterday we had lunch at the Union Station Grill which has great food and is down in the Ogden Historic district!! Then, after Justin went to work, the rest of us loaded up and went to Park City for a fun filled shopping day! We all found a few great deals and were pleased with our finds.

Wednesday afternoon the kids and I found ourselves faced with a hot 90+ degree day. The kids were begging to go to a park which I reluctantly told them I would take them to. I was dreading sitting out in the heat and having to worry about dehydration and the heat making them sick. However, I got online and was pleased to find that South Ogden has recently opened a "splash pad".



Sometimes I find myself a little jealous of all the fun things for kids to do now days and this was one of those times!!! This little cement water pad was SO fun for my kids. Gavin (the one in the bright orange above) didn't stop running nearly the whole time!! Nathan (can be seen jumping with both feet off the ground above in a green suit) loved the squirt guns most.
This is the dry park right next to the splash pad. The kids enjoyed running over there when they wanted to warm up a little. Gavin wouldn't really play--just sit and watch the water pad until he was warm enough to jump back in.
Abby--my little princess in the making also would like to soak up some rays (if the rays could make through her sunscreen of course). She also made a little friend, being the social butterfly she is and she and her friend enjoyed the dry playground just as much as the wet pad!

Here is Abby running through the water curtain. She really enjoyed the huge buckets that water would slowly drip into until the buckets were full and then they would tip sideways, creating a waterfall of water on the kids below.
AHHHH!!! Eureka!! We will definately be heading back to this South Ogden destination numerous times over the summer! It was fun and free!!
