Gee Mom I Wanna Go...

Home??? Okay so not really! We had our first big camping of the season last Friday. Some of the highlights include:
Gavin was SO tired at the end of the first day. He had an adventurous and scary day of playing in the very cold river, falling in the river (luckily he had a life jacket on and Justin was able to grab him fairly quickly so he only got one face full), playing in the tent, exploring and more!! He was so cold he was shaking by nighttime that he really enjoyed curling up with my mom (who was only up for dinner...not the camping) and falling asleep.
Here is our tent. The kids love our two room tent. It is really tons more room than we need but they love having different "rooms" and all. Unfortunately, nobody slept too warm this trip. It was blazing hot all day but when nighttime came we were all a little cold. Other than Gavin who I gave the best sleeping bag to because he was so cold when he fell asleep. We all ended up switching blankets around and snuggling up to each other with chattering teeth at around 3:00 AM!!! Next camping shopping trip we decided it was time to invest in some better sleeping bags for the kids!
Enjoying the campfire. Kris (James' wife) me and Gavin and Nathan. James brought his guitar up and he and Bob took turns playing us some tunes while we roasted smores and hot dogs.
Abby and Gavin after playing in the river the following morning. Abby put the life jacket on and floated down a short way...Justin let her go and Bob and James caught her. She enjoyed it.
Here is the gang getting their hot dogs ready to eat!
Bob (my brother), Abby and her Grumpy (my dad) enjoying dinner.
James and Nathan roasting marshmallows and Bob playing tunes.

Abby and Nathan in the river...it was a little chilly.
more river.
Ahh camping is so much fun!!!! Even though we got a little cold, overall everyone had a great time. We really enjoyed spending some time with James and Kris and Bob who came to sleep and with my parents who came up for dinner!!!

Looks like so much fun! Love the tent and I sympathize with the cold nights. I pulled Trevor out of his sleeping bag on our camping trip last week to use him as a little heater for mine.

I love camping. These are the times of our lives. The memories when you get bigger and go: Remember When.... Great family times!
