A Little Known Fact


Today is Valentine's Day, a day we all love to give little momentoes and gifts to express our love for each other. However, today is also National Congenital Heart Defect Day (CHD). Today thousands of Americans stop to think about congenital heart defects. Thousands of babies are born every year with congenital heart defects. They are debilitating and frightening. Abby lingered on death's doorstep for a few critical hours in the operating room after they fixed her CHD called Tetralogy of Fallot. She was a fighter and came through fine. However, many others loose their precious angels to this disease and still others come out of surgery with brain damage and other complications. The survivors will live somewhat limited lives as their hearts aren't as strong as those of us born with healthy hearts. Please take a moment to educate yourself on CHD.
