2 Years of Adventures and Smiles

Our Gavin turned 2 yesterday (Sept 12)!! I complain about his antics sometimes but he has truly blessed our lives with lots of joys and smiles! The first 8 weeks of his life he was a perfect angel baby...sleeping through the night for 5-6 hours at a time!!! A feat for a nursing baby. Never making a sound or fussing about things. Then around 8 weeks, he must have realized that he has to compete for his attention being the third. Everyone tells me that the 3rd child is always a little different and that they march to the beat of their own drum. This is certainly true of Gavin. We took him to the Hill Airforce Base Museum as he LOVES airplanes. However, we were surprised when we arrived about 4:20 and they closed at 4:30!!
We quickly strolled around some of the outside plane and AirForce exhibits, skipping the inside seeing as they kept announcing over the loudspeakers that they "were now closed!" However, the boys loved the planes and Gavin didn't know any different.
We will have to take him back to spend some more time with the planes soon. The sheer size of these machines is amazing and my little boys next to them make me smile! After the museum we went to grab dinner. Gavin's very favorite meal is pizza!!! He loves pizza and asks for it nearly everyday so we went to the Ogden Pizzeria. It is a real old style pizzeria and he enjoyed his pizza and the seat we got right in front of the fish tank!
After we came back home and enjoyed cake (thanks to my mom for this darling Thomas the Train cake!!) and opened presents. He LOVED everyone singing to him (you can tell on the smile above). He now walks around singing "happy to you." It is SO cute!! Gavin loved his presents, especially the little bobble head train that his Nona and Grumpy gave him. After some difficulty with the directions of how to assemble it, as the directions were only in...GERMAN???!!!??? It was finally assembled and running great! He absolutely loves it. Thanks to Nona, Grumpy, Lisa, James, Kris and of course Abby, Nathan and Daddy for coming to the party!!
We truly couldn't imagine life without this little bundle of energy! He is gregarious and social and loves to go, go, go!!!! He is also the first to snuggle up next to me on the couch and fall asleep in my lap. He loves to read books, play games, or just chase after his older brother and sister. He adores Nathan and tries to be just like him. He can't wait to pick up Abby and Nathan after school because he misses them while they are gone. He doesn't scream too much about injustices, seeing as he is the third, he just finds ways, often devious, to get what he wants. Overall, he is a problem solver and go getter! I have no doubts that his energy and enthusiasm will take him anywhere he wants to go in this life. Thanks Gavin for keeping us hopping and keeping smiles on our faces!!
